Admire my deepness, as displayed in my picking this inspirational quote!:

"'You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve,' said Aslan. 'And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor in earth.'" --C. S. Lewis, in Prince Caspian

Away: Libertarian - You believe that the main use for government is for some people to lord it over others at their expense. You maintain that the government should be as small as possible, and that civil liberties, "victimless crimes", and gun ownership should be basic rights. You probably are OK with capitalism. Your historical role model is Thomas Jefferson.

Away: Here, raw sexual aggression is symbolized by the sperm whale, while the squid acts as a thinly-disguised metaphor for the multi-armed oligarchies of Rockefeller, Hearst, and Morgan. Their battle plays against the backdrop of the sea, standing in for--what else?--the vastness of the unconscious mind.

Away: "Leeches?" my supercilious caller shrieked, pretending to laugh but instead issuing forth with something more like the chattering of an African pack scavenger. "There are no guns involved," he sneered. "Taxes are paid voluntarily."

"You're telling me that if I refuse to pay the property taxes that prop up the government schools, men with uniforms and guns won't eventually come and surround my house with yellow police tape, set my belongings out on the sidewalk, and auction it off?" I asked.

"Well, of course," my caller replied. "If you don't pay your taxes you have to pay the consequences. That's the free choice you have -- to pay your taxes or to face the consequences."

Away: i'm writing an annotated bibliography. It's superfun. It is. Really. Well...no. It isn't at all. I'm going to try to make it fun though. I'll make believe. Like i used to pretend be a hunter-gatherer finding firewood for a big bonfire when i was little and had to pick up sticks in the yard. Maybe I can pretend to be a political prisoner forced to do mindless tasks, or the only person in the world who can read, whose doing something vitally important. yeah. this will work, i'm sure.
Profile: For those of you who
a) want to get me a birthday present(i'm turning 21 April 7th) and
b) are too lazy/afraid of getting me something stupid and horrible that i'll won't like so that i won't ever talk to you again
I've made an Amazon.com wishlist for you. I realize this is shallow and materialistic, but...well, I really don't have any "but" except that I like presents. oh well. I also realize that many people do not fall into the catagory of gift givers, because of finances or not knowing me, and I love you any way, no matter what.

Away: Thursday-Individualism

Individualism is the belief that one person can hold ideas different from the ideas from other people and believe in them, thus creating a value system in which one person is prejudiced against other people for not being part of that individuality. This speaks to the essential nature of discrimination and prejudice. By encouraging individualism, we get further from communism-and that's bad.
